Josh Davis and Elizabeth Scoone were both selected as 2026 National Veterans Leadership Foundation (NVLF) Leadership Fellows. The Buckeye pair is among 23 students nationwide chosen for the prestigious opportunity following a rigorous nomination and selection process.

As part of the fellowship, Josh and Elizabeth will engage in leadership development programming designed to strengthen their skills, deepen their commitment to service, and enhance support for military-connected communities on campus. This fellowship recognizes outstanding military-connected students — including veterans, active-duty service members, reservists, National Guard members, ROTC cadets and dependents — for their service, leadership potential and commitment to making a positive impact on their home campuses.

“The NVLF Leadership Fellowships recognize the dedication and potential of military-connected students who are making a real difference on their campuses,” said James Miller, NFLF president and founder. “These Fellows exemplify service, leadership, and resilience. By investing in their growth, we are strengthening the next generation of leaders who will continue to support and uplift the military-connected community.”

Both of these Major Lawrence Miller Military Community Advocates have worked tirelessly over the past year to support military-connected students on campus and in the community by connecting them to resources and working to establish a strong campus community — sharing Ohio State's 2026 Student Veteran(s) of the Year accolade. Josh is studying public affairs and serves as the Student Veterans Association President. Elizabeth is a double major in Russian and journalism, and a Naval Reservist.
