Autumn 2017 Community Advocate Events
Fisher Student Veterans Received Resume Critiques
Student veterans in the Fisher College of Business received the opportunity to meet with corporate recruiters with military experience to help refine their resumes for the job hunt. The recruiters helped our veterans to translate their military experience into language more desirable to employers in the civilian sector. Representatives from Cardinal Health, DHL, Huntington, and Nationwide were all on hand to offer guidance and advice. A more detailed write up of the event can be found here.
Recreational Sports hosted a wheelchair basketball tournament, allowing students to get hands on experience with athletic wheelchairs and the rules of the sport. This event brought together student veterans, traditional college students, and members of the columbus community in the RPAC.
Off-Campus and Commuter Services can play a huge role for our military-affilitated population since the vast majority of these students live outside the residence halls. The office invited our veteran population to a night of bowling and family fun.
